About Me, Steve Burris

After serving 22 years in the US Secret Service and a total of 25 years in federal law enforcement, I, Steve Burris, am now the Owner of 305 Training and Consulting, LLC. My final two years in the Service were as a Regional In-Service Training Program Manager, responsible for training over 200 agents across six states. Selected as one of the inaugural Program Managers, my extensive instructional experience and dedication to continuous learning were key factors. This involved detailed training for USSS personnel, partner law enforcement agencies, Tactical Combat Casualty Care, and control tactics.

During my tenure at the US Secret Service Academy, I spent four years as a Control Tactics and Basic Tactics instructor, training both novice and advanced students. Further enhancing my expertise, I underwent additional Instructor Training courses at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center and became certified as an ASP-Baton Instructor and Pepper Spray instructor at the academy. Additionally, I specialized in teaching the use of force within dynamic simulated environments, utilizing computer systems and real-world scenarios.

Since retiring, I've utilized my tactical experience in Protective Intelligence and Threat Mitigation to provide Active Shooter training for IFMA-Houston and local businesses. Furthermore, I've extended my services by offering CPR and Stop-the-Bleed training to numerous businesses in the Dallas-Ft Worth area.
